Photo by David Butow This photo shows an example of what is photojournalism. This photograph displays a verb and correlates with what is to be considered photojournalism. This photo is raw and captured with a lot of emotion behind it. The subjects were not posed or prepared for their photo to be taken; it was taken in the moment. |

Photo by Sergey Bidun This photo is not considered photojournalism. It does not display a verb and is staged. The subject is clearly posed for this photograph to be taken. This does not follow the photojournalistic guidelines. This photo portrays a model simply getting her photo taken. It was a planned, set-up and prepared for photograph. |

Co-Created by Nicole Audet 12/2/24 with Leonardo AI This photo shows an example of how a photograph may be biased. With the prompt, "a biased photograph of Donald Trump from a republican viewpoint," AI is able to create this image. This image depicts a subtle, yet clear bias; with his proud, centered face. Trump is seen to be ready for the photo. He looks good. He looks promising and is seen as professional. |

Photo by Michael Reynolds This photo is not biased (or at least to my knowledge). The subject is in action while speaking at the podium. He has an average look on his face. He is not posed nor looking confident. This photo could be taken by anyone; republican or democrat. I do not see a bias within this photograph. |

Co-Created by Nicole Audet 12/2/24 with Leonardo AI This photo was created to show how not all art is considered photojournalism. With the prompt "mosaic art," AI was able to create this photo. This type of art would not be considered photojournalism. There is nothing happening in the art. There is no verb shown. It is bland. It is just art. There is nothing captured within this image. |

Drawn by Frits Ahlefeldt This photo shows art that I would consider to be photojournalism. There is something happening in the photo. The artist captured the verb by drawing it. It shows what I believe to be a soldier coming home from war and the disarray on the families' faces seeing him. It is a great photo showing raw emotion from the artist's viewpoint. |

Drawn by Robert Griffier This photograph is from the pre-digital age. This era used art to capture moments. This was quite time-consuming. By introducing technology, it made photojournalists' jobs much easier. However, the photo is captured live; drawn in the scene of the moment. This reflects photojournalism. |

Photo by Robert Frank This photograph is from the digital age. Using digital photography made it a lot easier for photographers to capture an image quickly and efficiently. The idea is quite convenient, giving photographers the ability to get instant feedback. |

Photo by Jennifer Ballard This photo shows an important ethic of mine; family. Everyone has a different value system and mine consists of relationships. This is something I plan on keeping close to me forever. My family provides me with a support system; a level of joy and care. |

Photo by TAVIT This is an ethic of mine that is not important to me. Clubbing and partying are not something that I care for. It is not something I hold value to. It does not mean much to me. It is something I do not need in my life. Going out would be at the bottom of my ethics ranking. |

Photo by Mark Humphrey Women in this photo show viewers that women can do any male job, showing men in the workforce that women are just as strong as them. The photo provides education on women rights, which were fought for for many years. Women in male workplaces provide a sense of role models for other women all around the world. There are many opportunities such as women's alliances that are provided for said women in the workforce. |

Photo by Jennifer Ballard This photo shows a woman in a setting in which they are expected to be. This has quite a sexist meaning. Many women struggle trying to get jobs and adequate pay. Women face many biases and stereotypes. They are subject to harassment and sexual assault at their workplace. They are subject to discrimination, violence, stress, and burnout. Many men want a wife who is a stay-at-home mom. It is important for women to break this stereotype and show men that women are just as capable as they are. |
